Night of Videos

During the XLI Marine Science Congress, the twelfth version of the Video Night will be held. Participants are invited to submit unpublished videos of their favorite organizations and works. The deadline for receiving videos will be until May 6, 2022.

Participation requirements:

* Student Category

We invite undergraduate and graduate students (regular student certificate must be attached), to prepare a video that reports in an entertaining way on some topic of marine sciences to compete for the Best Video Award Student Category 2022 .

*General Category

We invite individuals, marine science professionals, public and private institutions, NGOs, and others to submit their videos related to a marine science topic to compete for the Best Video Award General Category 2022.

Video requirements:

* Student Category

  • Videos should be focused on the area of marine science (oceanography, marine biology, fisheries or aquaculture, etc.) delivering a clear message (e.g., biodiversity, protection, conservation, education, care of the environment, etc.) in an entertaining way.
  • They must be original, free theme, and may incorporate animation, texts and music, among others.
  • The maximum duration is 5 minutes.
  • Videos should be submitted in one of these formats: .mpg, .avi, mp4 o .wmp.
  • Only one video per participant may be submitted.
  • The video can be made by one or more students, however, one of the authors must be present at the congress for the presentation on the day of the event.

*General Category

  • Videos should be focused on the area of marine science (oceanography, marine biology, fisheries or aquaculture, etc.) and deliver a clear message (e.g., biodiversity, protection, conservation, education, care of the environment, etc.).
  • Deben ser originales, de tema libre, y pueden incorporar animación, textos y música, entre otros.
  • The maximum duration is 5 minutes.
  • Videos should be submitted in one of these formats: .mpg, .avi, mp4 o .wmp.
  • Only one video per participant may be submitted.

Registration

  • Those interested in participating must fill out the Video Night 2022 registration form, according to their category.
  • They must send their videos via a file transfer system (e.g., dropbox, google drive, wetransfer or other), before May 6, 2022.
  • The videos will be reviewed by the organization and later evaluated by a jury composed of academics from universities that teach marine sciences, photographers and documentary filmmakers.

Selection of the winning videos

The best videos will be chosen based on their quality and originality.
